Mohan was a right-handed batsman and leg-break bowler and remained a middle-order batsman throughout his time in the first team. He made his highest minor county score 144 at Chesterfield 1958 against Leicestershire. Between 1959 and 1970, Mohan was a regular in the Second XI side, strengthening the middle order with team-mate William Oates
