In 2001 she defeated Democrat Kristy Sullivan with 64% of the vote.

In 2005 and 2009 she was unopposed.

She serves as Chair of the Government Accountability and Oversight Committee and has previously Chaired the Law and Justice Committee. She also serves on several other committees including the Board of Health, the Budget Committee and Budget negotiating team.

Before becoming a full-time elected official she was an elementary school teacher. Lambert is married and has adult children and several grandchildren and lives in Redmond

Washington State Legislature

Before the King County Council, Lambert represented the 45th district in Washington's legislature for seven years, serving on the Appropriations, Judiciary, State Government, and Rules committees.

In 1998 she ran unopposed and in 2000 she defeated Democrat Jim Gordon with over 68% of the vote.
