Diving since her childhood, became a competitive freediver record woman and adventurer in 1998 and has gone on to hold 7 world records, in addition to 2 Pan-American Records, 30 South American records, 6 national records and won several international competitions representing Brazil.

She became the first and only Brazilian woman athlete to achieve world records, and the first athlete in the freediving world to breake a world record during an official freediving competition, contributing to freediving sport to be more recognised in the extreme sports community.

One of the few athletes in the international history of sport that could unify all the south american records(2007), mastering all modalities.

Karol collecting 13 victories in international events and 7 victories in national events.

She also contributes towards fund raising for needy communities, public schools, protection against child labour programmes, and mainly for children who live in front of the sea, and have parents whose income depends directly on the sea.

Like an amazing adventurer and with her unwavering courage and sea passion, she did a so special world record in the most ancient greek dive called “skandalopetra” . The conquest was gotten at Rhodes Island – Greece. It’s a diving reminiscent of the first men who descended into the depths of the sea to look for treasure, sponges (only with a rock, without any equipment support).

She became the unique human being who achieved one of the deepest shipwrecks in the world so called “Corveta Ipiranga” at Fernando de Noronha Archipelago – 63meters, only with air from her lungs.

Homaged like "Women who transform the world" a tribute by bank CAIXA. Athlete AIDA internacional TOP10 during 12 years, Internacional Trophie – “Best Female Freediver 2007” Icare Trophie, "Special ICARE" for her complete carrier, Internacional Trophie - "Best Coach 2006" 2 times elected the Best Adventurer to GoOutside Magazine 2006 and 2010.

Karol Meyer spends most of her time working with oceanic preservation society - Brazilian Islands Society and other entities to protect the whales, more particular the "Franca Whales" who appear in front of the south Brazilian coast - Franca Whale Project, teaching Freediving as an instructor trainer AIDA, and also for PADI and NAUI.

Besides the records, she made a program called "Freediving Adventures" where she dives in the most beautiful diving spots in the world, and with the most incredible shipwrecks and sea animals around our blue planet. As an athlete and adventurer aware of the needs of the world, she works out to protect the nature being “Franca Whale Project Godmother”, contributing to “Tamar – Project” to protect marine turtles” and “Gouliath Groupers Brazilian Preservation”, carrying also a huge and urgent message of environmental preservation.

Karol has become successful as an "in company" Motivational Speaker in several companies in Brazil, so that, it's an opportunity for the sponsors to take advantage to work out their wide-spread names.

She is also the speaker of the largest events in the area like Boat Show, Dive Show, Adventurefair among many others in the country for over 10 years, always with the broadest audience.
