, returning to the 18th and Vine district and ending in the Freighthouse district in Midtown. It includes a 5K race and a half-marathon in addition to the traditional marathon race. The half-marathon starts and finishes at the same locations as the full marathon, and runs on the same day. Total participation for all weekend events neared 6,000 in 2008.

The 2007 overall winner was Peter Sercer with a course record time of 2:30:41. The female course record holder is Rael Murrey, with a time of 2:53:04.

In order to run in the Kansas City Full Marathon, one must be eighteen years or older on the date of the marathon. However, if anyone under eighteen years old has a permission slip
