Brief history

Australian Football began on Kangaroo Island in the late 1800's, with the first organised competition beginning in 1908 with the formation of Kingscote and Dudley United clubs. Wisanger joined in 1910, thereafter several clubs came and went such as Muston. The Kangaroo Island Football League was formed in 1950 with founding clubs of Dudley, Kingscote and Wisanger. They were joined by Parndana, American River and Nepean Bay. With the demise of the latter two clubs Western Districts became the fifth club in 1970, with the league maintaining that structure to the present day.

2008 season

Once again Kingscote dominated the senior colts winning their record 6th straight flag. Rhys Lovering BOG kicking 9 goals.
Dudley won B Grade and Parndana won A Grade.

2009 season

Western Districts Colts dominated proceedings and took their first colts premiership in quite a while. Parndana were premiers in A's and Reserves.

2010

Western Districts again premiers in colts, Parndana again in B's, and defeated Kingscote in A's for 3 in a row.
