Jagdishpur, Barwaripur, Katsari, Luxmanpur, Kotiya and Saray rani are the major villages of tis tehsil. Few good schools in the town are Xt. Xaviers, Sarawati Shishu Mandir & Vidya Mandir, Shri Ram Shikshan Sansthan,national inter college etc.The common language used for conversation is basically AVADHI(THETH),historically used in writing of Ramcharitmanas.
