The 1480 frequency in the '60s and '70s was known as KLEO and for many years was Wichita's most popular Top 40 station.

 will be selling KQAM to Steckline Communications. According to Greg Steckline, the owner of the said company, he wasn't aiming for a purchase but "this one just kind of happened. We just happened to be in the right place at the right time." Steckline paid $350,000 for KQAM. On January 6, 2010, at 1pm Central time, KQAM unveiled the lineup for its talk format as a companion to its sister station KGSO
