History

KLZ began broadcasting in 1922 and is Denver's oldest radio station. From 1954 until 1972 KLZ was owned by Time-Life Broadcasting. In 1972 Time-Life sold KLZ AM and FM to Group One Broadcasting.

The KLZ callsign originally identified a marine radio station aboard the Speedwell. The ship sank in the Gulf of Mexico
