KEKS first went on the air as "Kiss 103.1" some time in 2007. This "1st version" of the station was a Rhythmic CHR and had DJs. Later on in the year, the station changed to an AC

The station plays new music, but also mixes in older songs as well and tends to lean towards modern rock or rhythmic, as well as playing a wide variety of music, a rarity in most CHR stations in the United States. The "2nd version" of the station didn't have DJs for a while, but some were added later and were voicetracked; however, local jocks were added in March 2009.
