KK Nagar primarily represents a planned residential area. The region is spread as a rectangular landmass with traversing roads running through the region. The locality has a number of apartments inhabited by the people living in this part of the city. The entire region consists of 12 blocks, from 1 to 14 otherwise called Sectors. In addition to these, there are nearly 100 streets distributed across the 14 sectors. The divisions are marked by straight roads running from north to south and from east to west of the region.

KK Nagar is a well planned and designed area like Chandigarh. The 12 sectors at KK Nagar are developed, 3 in rows and 4 in columns. Each sector is having 6 to 7 streets and a park at the middle. KK Nagar area is located in such a way that every main destination in Chennai can be reached easily and within a short time; for instance, the Airport, CMBT at Koyambedu, Vadapalani Temple, Guindy IT Parks and Industrial Estate, Raj Bhavan Road, Anna University, IIT, Tidel Park, Kodambakkam Film studios etc.

Sivan Park

The Sivan Park located in the premises of KK Nagar is remarkable. The park is one of the well maintained and lush land area in the middle of the city. The park features many beautiful lawns and nicely laid out sidewalks. The park reflects a clean and green environment amidst the busy metropolis.

There are quite a number of services and facilities providers in the suburb precincts. The region with all its resources is one of the ideal places if one has to reside in Chennai city. Apartments, schools, local markets, hospitals and easy access to the city centers are some common features of the place.

Accessibility

KK Nagar region is connected by roads with other important regions of the city. The 2nd Avenue on the north east corner of the planned locality leads to the city center. One has to travel a good 8 km to reach the Chennai Central Station (Park Town) from here.

 Railway Station is the nearest suburban railway station to the place. The railway station is a couple of kilometres and towards the south east of the place.
Chennai Airport lies to the south of KK Nagar and about 6 km from the place.

Munusamy Salai

This is the street running between Nesapakkam at one end and leading to Vadapalani/Virugambakkam at the other. It runs to approximately one kilometre. Pondicherry House is a major landmark in this street. A number of banks - SBI, ICICI (this ATM was notoriously popular for beating the queues in the bank branches!), UTI, IDBI - have put up their ATMs in this street. The Nesappakkam branch of Indian Overseas Bank is in this street, towards the Virugambakkam/Vadapalani end. Opposite to KVB is a PTC bus depot, within which is a ticket printing press of the PTC is present. Nowadays, the RTA also conducts its two-wheeler driving test inside the premises. Gothis' Sunil Apartments is one of the oldest residential complex over looking the ICICI Bank ATM.New shops have now been opened in Munusamy Salai like the Cotton City,Just Eats,etc.

Milkyway, an ice cream parlour ; Anand Bakery, a famous eatery ; Emilio's , An Italian Gelato shop ; Cee n Select , A small shop offering snacks and drinks and Bakers Choice , the newest entrant to the area are seen on this street.

Milkyway is open from 11:00AM to 11:30PM while Bakers Choice is open from 09:00AM to 10:00PM.

Lakshmanasamy Salai

Lakshmanaswany Salai is one of the well known roads of K.K.Nagar .

HDFC Bank , Indian Overseas Bank , Punjab National Bank have their ATMs situated here while Indian Overseas Bank and Punjab national bank also have their fully functioning bank offices alongside their ATMs.

Adyar Bakery, a couple of pharmacies, three departmental Stores, a Cloth tailor, an electronic repair shop, a library (Bookworm's library), and two Aavin milk booths are also located on this street.

Buses stop in three different locations on this road.
A lot of residential projects have been coming up and this road is known well for the green trees it has been maintaining.

Ramasamy Salai

This too is a well known road,in K.K..Nagar.
It harbours supermarkets such as Grace,Vimala,and banks such as City Union Bank.
Amman Koil which is famous,is located on this road.

Bobbliraja Salai

This is one of the road which connects Ashok nagar and K.K.nagar. There is a small park, which is used by local residents for doing Yoga and other physical excercise(Triangular ground). This is the road where the K.K.nagar telephone exchange is situated.
