Starting his BBL career with the number 14 jersey.

Now competing in EBL div 3 wearing number 4, it is with ambition that Crutchley and the Warriors attempt to bring the team to a professional level that could possibly be a professional franchise competing in the BBL.

Shropshire is Josh Crutchley's home town and the Warriors is his home grown team and have been in existence for 10 years. Going EBL div 4 in the start of the 2010/11 season they are now competing EBL DIV 3. Being premoted in their first season, the Shropshire Warriors won a premotion in their first year at national league level.

Josh Crutchley started the game of basketball at the age of 11. Picking up the game whilste at Charlton School. He began his first games in school competitions. X Birmingham Bullets star Tony Simms was the basketball coach at charlton school running practice sessions during dinner time and after school. Once scouted by Tom Sunley Shropshire Warriors franchise owner, he was then appointed to play for the Shropshire Warriors

 basketball club under 14's and earning him self a place on the senior mens squad at the age of 14.

With the biggest event in the UK approaching Josh Crutchley was selected to represent the Shropshire Warriors in the Millennium Youth Games out of 300 particepents.

Career

While competing in the BBL, Josh Crutchley continued to compete in the local leagues with the Shropshire Warriors playing professional league and national league. Crutchley left Charlton School to study at the Telford College of Arts and Technology

 where he made his debut, taking up sport science. During his college basketball time he became basketball captain for the TCAT ACADEMY for 3 years. He continued his studies at Bangor University but later on turned down the option instead to sign with the newly formed Birmingham Panthers in February 2008.

Throughout his basketball career, Crutchley competed in the Millennium Youth Games 2000, competed in the West Midlands Squad under 16s, and also competed in the England Basketball

 under 16s. He is still a part of the Shropshire Warriors programme, competing in the Premier League, Senior Men's side and EBL DIV 3 team.

Achievements

Josh Crutchley's achievements include:

  • College Cup winners winning 2004/6
  • TCATS Student and Basketball Player of the Year 2006
  • 3 MVP awards with the Shropshire Warriors as well as 4 Most Improved and 2 Team Spirit
  • Shropshire Warriors Westmidlands champion title winners for the 09/10 season
