 and Andreas Streicher, who ran a successful piano-making business. He became a partner in the business in 1823 and, after the death of his parents, was the sole owner of the company. Among his pupils was the German piano maker Johann Bernhard Klem. Streicher's son Emil sold the family business in 1896 to the brothers Stingl, as grandson Theodor had aspirations as a composer and no interest in continuing the franchise.
