Joanna Dukes is an English
actress, perhaps best known as Toni 'Tiddler' Tildesley in Press Gang
, the pint-sized junior high school girl that delivered many mature witty punchlines for comedic value.
It was first thought the writers implemented the character of "Tiddler" to represent and to appeal to the younger audiences of the show. Using a pillow to prop herself to her typewriter, Tiddler was gutsy, ballsy and not afraid to speak her keen, sharp mind. Many thought that she was the younger, but much nicer version of Lynda Day (Julia Sawalha
).
After Press Gang ended in 1993, Dukes apparently left the acting profession as she has not been credited in any roles since.
