He only played in nine PGA Tour events in 2005 due to injury, making six cuts. In 2006 he played in 21 PGA Tour events and only made nine cuts. He was not able to retain his card and he went back to the Nationwide Tour in 2007. He finished in 25th place on the Nationwide Tour's money list in 2007 which earned him his PGA Tour card for 2008. He qualifed for the PGA Tour in 2009 by going through Q-school in 2008.

Walker finished the 2009 season ranked 125th on the money list, securing the last available tour card for the 2010 season. In 2010 he made his best finish to date with a third place at the Valero Texas Open
