According to a press release from a company owned by Meier, he was ranked one of the top 50 people in Vancouver’s film and television industry in 2004. By 1998, Meier's company Meier Worldwide Intermedia, Inc. had built the world’s largest motion picture and television soundstage, and had control of 14 production studios He is also credited with being largest studio space provider in North America. It is estimated that he has brought over $1 billion in to the economy of British Columbia

Meier's company later divested itself of studio properties in order to focus on film and television productions and other entertainment industry projects. He sold Meier Worldwide Intermedia to Quadtech International, Inc.

Background

At age 18 , Meier was working on a live television show while also working as a systems analyst at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. After several years he left banking to work full-time in the film and television industry.

Technology and production

Meier was one of the first to incorporate online technology into the BC Film Commission's co-production processes, as well as into the Directors Guild of Canada's production lists. He supplied this information through a bulletin board system

. Expanding online capabilities helped bring more film productions into British Columbia and helped people find work in BC-based film and television projects.

, Meier educated the BC film industry on its uses and lobbied the Government to supply media financing to the industry. He also launched "Hollywood North Internet Site", a noted film industry website.

Other business interests

Meier has been involved in several different companies since founding Meier Entertainment Group, Inc. in 1997. These include Covenant Corporation, which he founded in 2002 to develop technologies to counteract the digital piracy of video, music and software files. Covenant Corporation developed a desktop application called i-Fan that integrates anti-piracy solutions, artist promotion and digital music distribution. As of 2003, Meier was the sole proprietor of Meier Entertainment Group, Inc.

Awards and affiliations

Meier achieved early success in his industry. He was the youngest person to ever be elected to the board of Directors of the BC Motion Picture Association, and was awarded the Business in Vancouver’s New Year Achievement Award, for being one of the top business achievers in BC under the age of 40. Meier was a member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization, and is a voting member of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television

He also created a company that was used as a non-profit entity to help film students get jobs after their film schooling was completed.
