College career

As a true freshman in 2008, Harris made frequent appearances on special teams. He played in 10 games for Alabama in 2008, including the last seven contests of the season, and totaled three tackles with two solo stops. In the offseason, he bulked up to 230 pounds from around 212 in 2008.
