Jenaz has an area, , of 26 km² (10 sq mi). Of this area, 48.1% is used for agricultural purposes, while 38.8% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 3% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (10.1%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).

The municipality is located in the Jenaz sub-district of the Prättigau/Davos district. It consists of the old village of Jenaz on a terrace above the Landquart river
