On September 19, 2009, an update to the iPhone/iPod touch version of the game was released, which included a video promoting the future release of JellyCar 2. Some users reported that the video did not play for them, and instead simply played the music from the video, followed by a graphic announcing the upcoming game. On 9/24/09 version 1.5.1 was released to fix this bug.

On the iPod or iPhone, the Jelly Car is accelerated by tapping and holding your fingers on either side. There is a special feature that allows the car to be enlarged when the player taps the car.
