But the harsh years for shipping during the 1980s gave the company financial difficulties, forcing the company to merge its operating division with Paal Wilson & Co in 1993, creating Jebsen Wilson Euro Carriers. At first a joint venture, in 1995 Jebsens bough out Paal Wilson & Co, just to be bought by the same company two years later. The heritage exists today as part of Wilson ASA
