Its famously said that Jahanuma was built by the sister of Nawab who built Falaknuma Palace after the Palace was built. Mir Wajid Ali Aejaz, a lawyer by profession and founder of Good Faith High Schools, remains one of the most notable people in this area involved in many social activities irrespective of religion and caste.

The area is densely populated and mostly by Muslims. Hyderabadi Urdu is spoken throughout. There are more than 50 Masjids in the area and comes in Bahadurpura constituency. This area is considered to be greener than adjacent localities and with lot of speedbreakers. The residents of this area are very decent and religious.
