Hingert was born in England but has played most of his football to date in Australia. He spent time at the youth academy of Crystal Palace in London before joining Knox City in the Victorian State League

In July 2009 he joined North Queensland Fury and appeared 11 times over the next two seasons before returning to Dandenong Thunder in 2011 during the A-League off-season. In July 2011 he signed a two-year contract with Brisbane Roar.
