and Jesus College, Cambridge
. He was ordained in 1937 and began his career with curacies
at St Mary, West Kensington
and Christ Church, Crouch End
. During the war he became a Chaplain to the Forces
, rising in time to be its
Chaplain-General. In 1966 he became Provost
of Sheffield
, a post he held until 1974.
