Women's Association. She was vice president of the Canadian Conservative Party Association and a key member of the campaign team that helped elect R.B. Bennett Prime Minister of Canada
in 1930. She was appointed to the Senate by Bennett in 1935 and was the second female Senator after Cairine Wilson
