Kdam Eurovision 2011

In November 2010, Israeli broadcaster IBA reveals some of its plans for the 2011 national selection, which will return to Channel 1, after being out of their hands last year.

On 28 December 2010, IBA announced that several artists will participate in the Kdam in order to represent Israel in the coming the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. IBA is opening the call for artists to submit their entries. The final is set for 8 March. It will take place in the Culture Hall in Rishon LeZion.

During the next few days, IBA will make a list of potential artists that will be offered to take part in the selection. Furthermore, artists who match the conditions will be able to submit themselves too. The artists will be asked to submit 2-3 songs to the committee, who will choose 8-12 songs and singers in total to take part in the Kdam.

On 8 February, IBA announced the finalists of the 2011 Kdam:

At Eurovision

Israel competed on the 12th place of the second semi-final on 12 May and became 15th with 38 points which means she didn't qualify to the finals, making her the first former winner of eurovision to not make it to the final. Israel was directly picked to perform in the second semi-final to avoid a withdrawal due to the first semi-final taking place on the Israeli Memorial Day.
