History

The Islamic College of Brisbane was established in January 1995, it was initially known as the Islamic School of Brisbane. As the school progressed, more years were offered, thus changing its name to 'College'. In 2007, the school had reached around 500 - 700 students. From 2008 and onwards, the school plans on segragating the High School students according to gender, though this has only occurred for certain grade levels. However, the plan wasn't put into full action as segregation of gender would have led to highly unequal class numbers, and as a result the college is a co-educational facility.

The college also has a progressive and active Islamic Studies department (curriculum based on Islaamiyat in South Africa).
