Overview

During the initial period, 1972-1983, the publication was called Nordic Council for Arctic Medical Research Report, of which there were 36 volumes. From 1984-1996, the new name was Arctic Medical Research that included volumes 37-55. In 1997, volume 56 was issued under the current name, International Journal of Circumpolar Health, manifesting a new and broader scope. It's published quarterly, but there are often supplemental issues.

Circumpolar Health Supplements have become an independent publication series and not offered as part of the paid subscription to International Journal of Circumpolar Health.
