Opened in 1910 with the name Hauptstrasse it was renamed to Innsbrucker Platz in 1933. After the war it was reopened in 1945. The entrance was changed a few times due to building of an highway tunnel. The platform is too short to cope more than six waggons. A buffer marks the end of the line U4, an elongation is not in sight.
