Geography

Inkwil has an area, , of 3.36 km² (1.3 sq mi). Of this area, 1.65 km² (0.637068561677683 sq mi) or 49.1% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.21 km² (0.467183611896967 sq mi) or 36.0% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.44 km² (0.169884949780715 sq mi) or 13.1% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.05 km² (12.4 acre) or 1.5% is either rivers or lakes and 0.03 km² (7.4 acre) or 0.9% is unproductive land.

Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 7.1% and transportation infrastructure made up 5.7%. 35.1% of the total land area is heavily forested. Of the agricultural land, 37.5% is used for growing crops and 8.9% is pastures, while 2.7% is used for orchards or vine crops. All the water in the municipality is in lakes.

It is divided into three sections; Dorf, Vorstatt and Station.
