Personal life

Immanuvel devendrar was born on 9th october 1924 to Mr.Vedhanayagam (School Teacher and founder of Devendra kula vellalar sangam,Mudukulathur) and Mrs.Gnanasoundhari Ammal in a village of Sellur, which is located in Mudukulathur Taluk in Ramanathapuram district,Tamil Nadu
. He has four childrens namely E.Mary Vasantha rani,E.papin vijaya rani,E sundari prabha rani, E.Jansi rani. Immanuvel sekaran knew 7 languages including Russian language.

Involvement in freedom struggle

At the age of 18 Immanuvel devendrar participated in the Quit India movement

 and he was imprisoned for three months by the British Government.

Fight for social justice

He worked hard for the upliftment of the Scheduled caste people in Tamilnadu. During his work as a social reformer he was murdered following the 1957 riots.
