Stokes received his FIFA badge in 2004. He officiated the 2005 FAI Cup Final and the semi-final of the 2007 Setanta Sports Cup 2007. In 2006, Stokes was appointed to the Elite Phase of the UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship in Croatia
