The IEEE Industry Standards and Technology Organization (IEEE-ISTO) is a Federation of Programs that accelerates and extends standards and/or technology development and adoption activities for technology industry consortia.
IEEE-ISTO was established in January 1999 as a global, not-for-profit corporation [501(c)(6)]. The IEEE is the founding member of IEEE-ISTO. Affiliation with the IEEE and the IEEE Standards Association is maintained through formal agreements.

ICAP Initiative

The IEEE Conformity Assessment Program (ICAP) is a program managed by IEEE-ISTO. ICAP provides support that benefit industry standards making bodies, as well as conformity assessment professionals responsible for evaluating new products against IEEE standards.
