Hybrid Sexuality Scale
Encyclopedia
Hybrid scale of sexuality is a table used at first to spell out the terms of Alfred Kinsey
Alfred Kinsey
Alfred Charles Kinsey was an American biologist and professor of entomology and zoology, who in 1947 founded the Institute for Sex Research at Indiana University, now known as the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction, as well as producing the Kinsey Reports and the Kinsey...

. But later, due to editorial conflicts, Kinsey happened to be just one of the inspirational sources of this new scale. This new scale is not intended to refute the theories of Kinsey. It is true that contains many terms of their contributions, gathers some of them but also introduces new co ncepts that were never considered in the Kinsey report. When deviations from exclusive heterosexuality are present, they are likely to be much more extreme among males than among females. There are many methods to measure this sexual behavior.
