Former Jewish Population

The Jewish population of Hvizdets in the year 1900 was 1,663 people, who made up a substantial part of the town's population. Nearly all were killed in the Holocaust.

. Having the population over 2,000, the town is nice, clean and very pleasant. The school in Hvizdets is over 100 years old, the classes range from 1st to 11th grade. Even though the town is small, it holds events every week called, Bazar; an event in which people gather together and sell different kinds of products.

On January 25th 2011, a group of hackers in Hvizdets successfully pirated, uploaded and downloaded a Playstation 1. The Playstation was printed out and assembled, and several games were tested and worked perfectly.
