Of particular note is the Sports Department of the college, which competes successfully against much larger local colleges. The Department provides Level 2 and Level 3 academic courses that sit alongside a range of sport related vocational qualifications. The department now has students representing England Colleges at Football, obtaining scholarships to the USA, university places in the UK and students who go on to professional arenas in sport. The college also offers programmes of study for LLDD students. Specialist courses are run for adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

Through its adult education courses, Huntingdonshire Regional College offers services to the public, including a hair & beauty salon and a nursery. The college also has a purpose built Services to Business Conference and Learning Centre, which is for employers and employees studying in the workplace.
