Huddle was founded in 2006 and launched the first version of its main application in early 2007. Huddle was chosen as one of Britain’s 10 most promising start-ups by the Financial Times, including reaching the Top 100 Best Business Startups List in UK for 2010, a definitive list of the UK's most innovative, inspiring and ground-breaking new businesses compiled by startups 100.

In 2009, Huddle was featured in BusinessWeek's article titled The next Google? which feature 50 promising tech start-ups. The company currently operates in London
