Hirschau lies directly on the German Federal Highway 14 (Nuremberg - Prague) and ca. 20 km east of the Autobahn 6 (Amberg - Heilbronn),and ca. 15 km west of the Autobahn 93 (Regensburg - Hof). The municipality is about 70 km east of Nuremberg
