. The school is one of 34 secondary schools in the Glasgow City area. Opened in 1967, the current school roll is around 1300 pupils with 80 teachers.

The school was created from 2 schools, Sir John Maxwell Secondary School (now Sir John Maxwell Primary School) and Strathbungo Secondary School (now St Bride's Primary School), the school badge and motto are those of Strathbungo Secondary School.

Courses

Students entering Hillpark attend general courses, such as English, Maths and History. Once they reach the fifth year, extra classes are offered and only English is a required course.

Sports facilities

The school has two red-ash football pitches, a hockey field, two gymnasia, a games hall and a fitness suite and a swimming pool

Computing and IT

Hillpark Secondary contains nine fully equipped computer suites – four in Business Studies, four in Computing Studies, one in Technical and the Internet Suite/Learning Centre in the school Library. In 2005, the school also purchased six plasma screen TV's. In addition, each classroom contains at least one computer and a smart board.

House Groups

Hillpark pupils are split into six house groups: Cairngorm, Lomond, Nevis, Merrick, Pentland and Torridon.

School Clubs

The school's senior football team, managed by Gordon Moulsdale, won 4 consecutive Glasgow Championships. The 4th year football team got to the semi final of the Scottish Cup in 2007.

Awards

In 2005/06 the school was awarded the Glasgow Sports School of the Year prize. The school has the highest number of pupils sitting credit level P.E at standard grade in Glasgow.
