. It was close to Heathfield High School and as a result was well patronised by the students. With the downgrading of services in the mid to late 1980s, students were forced to find other ways of getting to/from school, and most students were left unhappy as a result.

Heathfield was closed in 1987 when suburban rail services on the Bridgewater line ceased. The platform has since been demolished.
