It was agreed that the project would be implemented as a joint venture between Government of Karnataka and M/s Jupiter Aviation and Logistics Pvt Ltd. An Agreement was made between the government of Karnataka and the Jupiter Aviation and Logistics Pvt Ltd on 6 September 2007 to construct the airport on Build-operate-transfer
basis. The agreement would be made effective with full force from the day of commissioning of the airport until the completion of 30 years of lease period.
