Biography

Grouplove began when Hannah Hooper and Christian Zucconi forged a friendship with the latter three members while attending an artists' residency on the island of Crete. Before returning to their homelands, they began hashing out plans to meet up again and put some of the music they had been working on to tape. When back in the United States they recorded the material at drummer Ryan Rabin's home studio. As a result, their first EP

. In an interview with Press Plus 1 in April, it was revealed their full-length album would be released in September 2011. A new single, "Itchin on a Photograph", was available for download in the UK on June 19, 2011 and June 21, 2011 in the US per the official YouTube channel grouplovemusic. On May 16, 2011, Grouplove announced their full-length debut album was to be titled "Never Trust a Happy Song", and was released September 5, 2011 in the UK, and was released September 13, 2011 in the US. Their song Goldcoast was used in the film The Sorcerer's Apprentice

In July 6, 2011, they played what Zucconi said to be their "best booking ever" on Optimus Alive '11 Festival (Algés, Lisbon). 50,000 people attended the venue.
