At one time, there was a Gristede's in the hamlet of Somers, New York; it was the farthest-north store in the chain. There was also a store in Tenafly New Jersey that closed in the 1980s. It was replaced by a CVS Pharmacy. On Long Island, a Gristede's in Southampton closed in the late 1980s. Port Jefferson
had one until the mid-1980s; Locust Valley had one until the new owner in its shopping plaza closed it in 2008.
