Girote is a village and one of the 51 & Its No. is 28. It is satuated on the westeren Bank of River Jehlum, and 26 KM towards south from KHUSHAB. It has only one Branch of MCB Bank. Aheer and Baloch family are the major families that contest in every Elections. Ex-Nazim of the Union Council was Mailk Fazil Abbas Aheer. Who was a very dominating personality of the area. He worked only for the welfare of poor people of the Area. During his period Malik Fazil Abbas Aheer started various projects for the Union Council and copmleted them successfully. The most important thing was that during his Five years the projects he completed was more than the sum of all old 20–30 years. Syed Family is also living there, a famous personality of the Area was late Major Syed Ali Hussain Shah. It has a Basic Health Unit & Post Office. Boys & Girls High School are also here. It has number of private educational institute like Al-Khalid Lasani Model School, Ali Memorial, Al-Hamza public Schools. Illitracy is very Common & latracey Rate is below 30%.Union Council has Villages Named as, Lukoo,Shah Ajmal,Wasoo,Dhup Sari, Langar Wala, Watoo, Thatti Lalla,Samandar Kho. Rangpur,Sultan Jammali,Balla Girote, Chowck Girote,Sighwal,Gogo Chaki. The famous personality of the Wasoo town was Malik Muhammad Nawaz Aheer grandfather of Ex-Nazim Malik Fazil Abbas Aheer.
