. On March 21, 2011: President Mark P. Becker and Director of Athletics Cheryl L. Levick announced Hunter as the new head men's basketball coach at Georgia State University. The 2011-12 season will be his first with the Panthers. Ron Hunter is a spokesman for Samaritans Feet, an organization that donates footwear to poverty stricken children. His involvement in this organization has led him to coach a number of games at IUPUI barefooted, a tradition which he intends to continue in his career at Georgia State.
