Club career

Breen started his career playing for Fort Rangers in Kilkenny, and moved to Dublin to play for Belvedere in 2003. After winning two All-Ireland medals with the club he moved to England at the age of 16 to join Manchester City

However, he left the club by mutual consent on 3 February 2009 having failed to make a competitive appearance for the club during his seven month spell.

He moved to Galway United for the 2009 season and made 33 appearances for the Tribesmen scoring 3 goals in the process.
