Frankenstein of '59 is the eighth and final single by the novelty act Buchanan & Goodman released on Novelty Records in 1959. Dickie Goodman
dissolved the group soon after its release in order to record under his own name. An anonymous announcer filled in for Bill Buchanan
The record follows Goodman's characters, Count Dracula and Westbrook van Eastbrook, as they report Frankenstein's escape. The US Army is called to attack the monster, but fail. Soon, they realize that the monster just wanted to dance with the teenagers on American Bandstand
.
"Frankenstein Returns", the B-side, is actually Part Two of "Frankenstein of '59". Westbrook van Eastbrook reports that the monster has escaped again. Sheriff Tom Dooley comes in to duel against Frankenstein. The record ends just after Frankenstein beats Tom Dooley. The entire B-side lasts 59 seconds.
Though the record wasn't very successful, many Oldies
