Storylines

Flynn was the local doctor. He found love with Sally Fletcher

 and they married. Sally and Flynn were desperate to start a family but couldn't conceive naturally due to Sally's hysterectomy after having ovarian cancer a few years prior. After much trouble and heartbreak involved in their previous surrogacy with Sally's foster sister Sophie Simpson

, who gave birth to their son, David, but lost the child to Flynn and Sally, their good friend Leah offered to be the surrogate. Their baby girl was born in 2004, and named Pippa, after Sally's beloved adoptive mother.

Sally and Flynn also fostered two local teens, Cassie and Ric. At the time it seemed like Sally and Flynn were the perfect couple, but unfortunately their happiness wasn't to last. Flynn was diagnosed with skin cancer
