. Once completed, the 106.5 mile stretch of paved trail from the trail head at Key Largo to the southern most point of Key West will facilitate travel through the keys separate of U.S. Highway 1

The trail will be free of automobiles making it ideal for cycling and hiking. The eventual vision for the trail includes a variety of stops along the trail. These stops will facilitate activities such as swimming, sightseeing, snorkeling, and fishing and will also include historical information at certain points of interest.
