Mission

At First Presbyterian Day School, our goal is to provide a strong college-preparatory education that reflects a Christian world-and-life view in the Reformed tradition. Reformed Christian Education has a rich tradition that is founded in the ideals of the Reformation and has impacted even the early American public schools. College-preparatory education has changed rapidly over the past 100 years as the challenges facing society, business, and industry have grown (especially in respect to mathematics, science, and technology) and the nature of post-secondary education has changed. We work hard to see that our program reflects these time-honored ideals and changing societal needs in a seamless and coherent way in order to fulfill our purpose to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory.

Athletics

As of the fall of 2010 FPD competes in the Georgia High School Association. In the Georgia Independent School Association, the FPD athletic program has won 28 State Championships and 127 Region Championships since it was founded in 1970. The girl's basketball team and wrestling team won their respective 2009 state championships. In 2010 Coach Jimmy Turner helped to lead the vikings to its second baseball State Championship in school history, they last won in 1992 under Turner. 2010 was their last year in the GISA. In the spring of 2011, the Lady Vikings soccer team, under the direction of head coach Josh Trieste, won the GHSA Class A State Championship in their first year of competition in the GHSA.

FPD's Athletic Program won the 2009 All Sports Award recognizing them as having the most successful athletic program in the GISA. This is the third consecutive year that they have won this award.

Academics

FPD also has a well rounded Blue Ribbon Academic program to go along with its Athletic Program. FPD provides twelve A.P. courses, which are US History, US Government and Politics, Spanish Language, English Literature, English Language, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Biology, Latin-Virgil, and European History. FPD was awarded for achieving academic success when it won the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence as it was the best academic school in Georgia for that year.
