player. He was educated at Wesley College, Melbourne
. Watts was on the Crows playing list for two seasons, but disappointingly played only 5 senior games (all in 2004), returning 2 goals. He had more success in the SANFL, including a 10 goals haul for Woodville-West Torrens in the 2005 SANFL semi-final.
He requested to be traded to St Kilda at the end of the 2005 season, citing limited playing opportunities. Fergus' father Jim Watts was the CEO of the St Kilda Football Club at that time, later leaving the club in June 2006. A deal was made with the Crows
