but later the part went to Hrishitaa Bhatt
. The press and media in India did claimed that Jigyaasa
was supposed to be based on the life of the sex symbol Mallika Sherawat
but Faisal denied it.
Saif started his career as an independent music video director. He directed videos for Catrack Music and Vital Records.
Saif made his first feature film Come December
in 2003. He then made Jigyaasa
in 2005 which was a very high publicised film of 2006.
Presently Saif is busy in making Om Allah
. At the same time sources say that he was planning a Tamil Hindi feature film with Tamil heartthrob Shaam
, but Faisal denied this. Faisal has recently completed a psycho-horror-thriller starring Pakistani superstar Meera

Controversies
- While shooting his third Hindi feature film Main Osama in Kashmir, Faisal was harassed by a local Kashmiri group and the film units were forced to leave the valley. The local Muslim Kashmiri group had a problem where character actor Pushkar Jog (who is a Hindu) performs Muslim salaats.

was finalised to play the title part in Main Osama but later walked out of the film as he received serious death threats. Ali Haider still scores the soundtrack of the film. - Pakistani star Meera lodged a complaint on 7 September 2009 at Punjab's Chief Minister's Complaint Cell that Saif was trying to defame her reputation by creating a fake marriage between her and an agent working for Saif. Meera also said that Faisal was threatening to kill her. Faisal denied all the allegations. On 15 October 2009, Meera presented audio tapes to the press, revealing conversations between her and Saif. The actress claimed that Faisal has agreed that the fake marriage pictures were doctored by him. Faisal has again denied these allegations.
