Controversies

  • While shooting his third Hindi feature film Main Osama in Kashmir, Faisal was harassed by a local Kashmiri group and the film units were forced to leave the valley. The local Muslim Kashmiri group had a problem where character actor Pushkar Jog (who is a Hindu) performs Muslim salaats.
  • Pakistani rock star Ali Haider

     was finalised to play the title part in Main Osama but later walked out of the film as he received serious death threats. Ali Haider still scores the soundtrack of the film.
  • Pakistani star Meera lodged a complaint on 7 September 2009 at Punjab's Chief Minister's Complaint Cell that Saif was trying to defame her reputation by creating a fake marriage between her and an agent working for Saif. Meera also said that Faisal was threatening to kill her. Faisal denied all the allegations. On 15 October 2009, Meera presented audio tapes to the press, revealing conversations between her and Saif. The actress claimed that Faisal has agreed that the fake marriage pictures were doctored by him. Faisal has again denied these allegations.
